Hi! Steve Starling here, better known to some of you as “Starlo”. For those who don’t know me, I’m a fishing writer and occasional TV-presenter, based on the south coast of NSW, Australia, but travelling extensively in pursuit of my career. I’ve been fishing since I was 7, writing about it since I was 15 and making my living from the sport since I was 21. All of the pages on this site are updated and added to from time to time, but one of them changes much more than any of the others. On a regular basis (at least a couple of times each month) you’ll find a new report on my Gone Fishin page, and all of my earlier reports are also archived in that section. Sometimes, my report will give a run-down on where I’ve been lately, what I’ve been catching, and any new or exciting techniques and tackle I’ve been using or testing. Other times, the report will consist of timely, seasonal tips and hints aimed at improving YOUR angling results.

By going to the Contact page of my site, you can find out how to send me an e-mail. As you can probably imagine, I get a LOT of e-mails! Please believe me when I tell you that I DO read every single one of them, even if it isn’t always possible to answer them individually. Where you have specific questions, I will eventually try to get back to you, but please be patient and, if you haven’t received an answer after a month or so, send me a gentle reminder of your original question!
